In order to further implement the public's right to know, participate, and supervise the ecological environment, and to enhance the awareness and behavior of ecological civilization in the whole society, our company invited villagers from Shiban Village, Gaokeng Town, around 3 pm on December 27, 2021, to visit our factory to learn about the waste catalyst (solid waste) regeneration project.
Under the guidance of the staff, through on-site observation, the source of waste catalysts (deactivated catalysts), the significance of waste catalyst regeneration, waste catalyst regeneration technology, and supporting pollution prevention and control facilities were explained in detail to the villagers. Catalysts are important catalysts in industrial activities that can accelerate chemical reactions and direct them towards the target product, thereby improving production efficiency. After use, the catalytic activity of the catalyst will be reduced due to various harmful substances in the reaction. By using certain regeneration agent techniques to regenerate the deactivated catalyst, its activity can be restored and it can be put back into use. Regeneration of waste catalysts enables the reuse of catalysts, effectively reducing the pollution caused by the dumping and landfilling of waste catalysts to the environment.
Our company mainly regenerates olefin removal catalysts in the petrochemical industry. Waste catalysts are unloaded from refineries and loaded into ton bags, which are then transferred to our hazardous waste warehouse for temporary storage by professional transportation units. After one screening, high-temperature activation roasting, and secondary screening, the activated catalysts are obtained again and finally packaged for storage. The exhaust gas generated by high-temperature roasting is discharged in compliance with standards after passing through a bag filter for dust removal, a VOC (CO) removal reactor, and a denitrification (ammonia reduction) reactor.
This regeneration project can process 2425 tons of waste catalyst annually, generating nearly 30 million economic benefits. It is a win-win project that not only protects the environment but also creates economic benefits.
Through this event, the surrounding villagers gained a more intuitive and in-depth understanding of the entire process of regenerating waste catalysts. The company also provided scientific answers and explanations to the environmental pollution issues that are most concerned about the regeneration process, which gave villagers more confidence in the green development of enterprises in the park.
