1. Overview
The methyl mercaptan catalyst is developed using active alumina spheres with low acidity, concentrated pore distribution, and good strength as carriers, and tungsten compounds modified with alkali metals as active centers. The active center construction technology is employed. This catalyst is used in the catalytic reaction of methanol hydrogen sulfide to prepare methyl mercaptan, which improves the conversion rate of methanol while reducing the production of by-products such as methyl sulfide and dimethyl ether, making the catalyst highly selective and long-lived for methyl mercaptan.
2. Product Features
(1) High conversion rate: Under the same process conditions, the conversion rate of methanol is 3 percentage points higher than that of the reference agent.
(2) High selectivity for methyl mercaptan: High selectivity for the product methyl mercaptan.
(3) Low activation temperature: The activation temperature of the catalyst is 5-8 ℃ lower than that of the industrial reference agent.
3. Promotion scope
The methyl mercaptan catalyst was applied in a 20000 ton/year unit of a company in Shandong in 2016. Under the working conditions of a pressure of 1.0 MPa and hydrogen sulfide: methanol=2, the yield of methyl mercaptan obtained was greater than 78%.
